Many people when they are trying to design a contract make the process way to complicated. They try to include everything that can go wrong and a contingence plan for every scenario. The next thing that is very important is the signing of the contract. Whenever possible have both parties sign the contract at the same time and at the same place. Have two witnesses, one for your side and one for their side, do not allow family members to serve as witnesses, it does not stand up well if you need to go to court for any reason. Have a notary there to notarize all four signatures. If you really have to have a complicated contract for legal reason make sure that you use a licensed professional to help you with all the ins and outs of contract management. But for the most part you can write a contract by yourself that will stand up in a court of law. Have your management take a look at the contract you have drawn up and get their input, they may have suggestions that you might not have consider.
